how to replace bulbs for gear shift lighting
Hi Guys, in need of instructions on replacing bulbs so the gear display lights up. The lighting on the gear shift for my '06 GS430 is not lighting up anymore or rather it's been out since the purchase of the car. At night, I cannot see what gear I am shifting, thus relying on the dash. I think there is a small light bulb I need to replace down in there but how do I get to it? I did search and nothing came up for the 3rd Gen.
Cheers!

You would need to shift into neutral, unscrew the shift ****, and pop the plastic trim underneath the radio with a thin flathead. Then open the center armrest, stick a flathead where the wood trim meets the felt storage bin and pop out. Lift the rear of the wood trim and guide out. You should not have to unplug anything. I just flip it over and remove the T74 bulb. I also replace the cig lighter bulb (T74) with led while I'm at it.
