Default 06 gs300 door will not open

06 gs300 door will not open from inside or out side. The door handle inside feel slacked, the outside feels the same. Any ideas on how to open it.

Is it from the lock mechanism itself or the hinges that (common on 3GS doors that are not used often) are frozen. Is it front or rear doors? If they are the hinges spray some PB blast on them let them sit overnight, if there the rear doors you should be able to easily spray them from opening the front doors. If its the front doors you might have to spray them through the fenders.

If its the lock mechanism, maybe one of the arms separated. You might need to get a lock smith slim jim the doors, if that even possibly on these cars. Or even try to remove the door panel from inside of the car

It's the front passenger door. It's not the hinge, there seems to be slack in the door handles from both sides. Im not sure if it possible to pop it open with a slim-jim. The locks themselves work, when using the remote they lock and unlock. As for getting the door panels off from the inside, I don't see any bolts or screws to remove to get the panel off.

So when you pull on the outer door handle or the inner you feel as if theres a void. I just looked up how the door latch system works and it uses steel braided cables instead of rods. So slim jim will not work! Im betting that the steel braided wire cable snapped in your lock mechanism. I would try to remove the door panel on the car, there should be diy on how to remove it. But because your door is in a closed position you might have to destroy the door panel to remove it. Im not sure how accessible the screws are for the door panel. Once you remove the door panel, vapor barrier you should be able to access the mechanism and see exactly what is going on.

You can look on ebay for a door panel and a lock mechanism or even a local junkyard using car-parts.com

Thank you for the quick response. Yes, you are correct slim-jim wont work. I just tried popping it, no luck. I guess my only option is to cut the door panels off. Seems silly that there's no work around for this. Thanks Lexus.

Actually it is a good thing that the lock is not slim jim able, for security reason. You can find door panels on ebay pretty cheap for our cars especially a passenger door. I looked on ebay $50-150 shipped is the going rate for a door panel. I would def be gentle on removing the door panel to see if its possible to salvage it, but if you cant its not like the parts will break the bank.

Good luck and let us know of the outcome, im curious to hear what actually failed
