I recently switched front seats from a 2013 GS 350 F SPORT to my 06 GS 430 and had to do some modifications with the wire harness at the bottom of the seats, however I got the seats to work properly.
After I drove home from shop to my home which is about 5 miles, everything seems ok,until I start for a second time and drove off, brake light, abs light and skid control light came on.
My question is,because I switched a few wires around, could it be possible that it could trigger the ECU/computer or the ABS pump..I need your help guys..thanks in advance.
My bet is that a wire you installed maybe draining your battery, more likely your battery was low on voltage after your 2nd start up, which is why you triggered all the christmas tree lights on your dash. Recheck your wires make sure your power isnt tapped into a constant voltage
My seat is set to my position,so I am thinking that I want to experiment and disconnect all the power underneath the seat and maybe the ECU will reset itself..this issue only happened about 2 hrs after I installed and re wire the driver's seat..what's your take on this.
Doesnt matter if the battery is brand new or not, if you wrongly spliced one wire to where it still powered something when the ignition was turned off it will create a parasitic draw and drain your battery after you leave the car. So when you return to your car and start it up that battery probably had just enough current to turn over the starter. Lexus 3GS when the battery drops to a certain voltage the speedo cluster will throw out all kinds of codes.
If you disconnect the harness, I would also unplug the battery to clear out the codes and see if they come back. Its best to go back and recheck the wiring. You can also put a test light on the plugs with the car off and the doors shut and test to see if theres any voltage going to anything.
