Phoenix Android Radio
Just did my install it’s coming together nicely. It controls all climate control, and gives you all the functionality of an android tablet.

I asked about setting daylight savings time on my clock (I know there is a mess of settings to find it) at a Lexus dealer and they said they had customers opt for those units when there were issues with a display failing or map upgrades.
They are thinking of keeping a few in stock! They told me it works almost as good as an OEM part! The MSRP on a new GEN 6 OEM head unit is almost EIGHTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS + install.

Wait. I'm confused. You called Lexus to ask how to change your clock for DST (which is approximately three button clicks) and they said people who couldn't figure out how to adjust for DST just said, 'Screw it! I'll blow about $20K' ? What am I missing here?

People who have problems with the touch screen or the Nav system(we all know how great it is!) get a suggestion to buy the Phoenix Radio. When your touch screen goes out, the dealer is going to pull up that part number and print an estimate. I'm sure they don't get many takers for a factory part, but they can make a few bucks on the install of that phoenix radio instead of the customer driving away. They charge $1000 with the camera to put it in, part included. They actually have one in an older loner car to demo it. The tech said it is much better than what a 2018 has in the dash (his opinion).

$1000 for unit+camera+install seems like a pretty reasonable cost to me considering that they would then be responsible for insuring that everything functioned properly also.

That's what I found odd when reading the initial reviews. Showing hi/low vs the actual temperature is just a UI adjustment on the developers part. Tying that temperature display to a specific temperature is obviously going to vary in precision but the display aspect should not be hard at all. Do you have a picture of what your display looks like for the temperature?

High low was bothering me for a minute but this thing is actually really good. If you are considering it keep in mind that in order to take full advantage of this unit a mobile hotspot is recommended. Not necessary but recommended. It allows me to utilize Spotify, pocket casts, and Waze for navigation (hello live traffic info) only thing my Gs needs is the newer driver assistance and safety features and my tech is better than any 2019 that’s fresh off the show room lot.
