Default Autolamp turn on delay

I'm not thrilled that the headlights come on instantly when it is dark. My ex had a corolla and it would take 20 sec or so to come on. Reason being is I'm in a dark garage, and I hate that the HIDs are lit to be turned right off, lighting HIDs can shorten their life. Also, if you go under an underpass they go right on. Can a delay be added to the headlights? I know you can configure things thru techstream, and there are inexpensive adapters. I looked in the owners manual and didn't see that as a configurable option, but maybe it is not listed?

You don't need Techstream. You can turn the auto function off manually with the column stalk. You don't have to use the auto function. Read the manual again.

I guess the solution is to use it like a 1980s car then  So used to auto headlights from other cars though. Cycling HIDs definitely shortens life. Same with a projector too.
