Default Back with a new gs300 and new issues

So i sold my 2nd gen gs400 1.5 years ago(big mistake).Got into to a e60 platform smh, talk about high maintenance. I saw a 3rd gen gs300 for a decent price. One owner had a dead battery jump started it drove it around pumped gas, bought it drove it home. put a new battery in it yesterday. Went to go take it for a spin and i have no reverse lol not sure if reverse even worked never tried it when i tested the car(i know my mistake). Emailed the previous owner and no reply and doubt they will be any help. You can feel like it goes in gear but wont move revs up to 2k feels like the ebrake is on but it isn't. Any input is appreciated. don't want to drop it off for a rebuild when it doesn't need one. Thanks in advance had 2 codes for sonar sensors cleared them and reset the steering angle. drove it yesterday fro about 10 miles see if i would get any codes nothing yet. Also accelerating is weak no kickdown or down shifting.

Maybe a shift solenoid. Possible low trans fluid. Do you see the reverse light come on

Do a search on mylexus.com with your vin number, maybe the previous owner took it to the dealer for an estimate.

To me it sounds like low fluid or a stuck soilnoid

nothing related to the transmission shifting issues. car was always serviced at toyota or lexus here locally so that was pretty cool to see.

If its got too many issues, you can always send it to coparts and sell it there. 07-up Gs350 are super reliable!

i have no issues getting the transmission rebuilt. just want to make sure its the transmission and not a solenoid or something. i can just fix at home with out taking it to the shop.

How many miles are on the car? Do any of the records indicate the transmission fluid has been changed? It sounds it is the solenoid that has went bad. Id change that out and the transmission fluid.

I didn’t see anything but I’ll double check in a bit when I get home. The 100k mike service was done. Not sure if they change the fluid since it’s a lifetime fluid. Car has 168k miles.

Semi related to the thread, but dealer is charging me $320 for a flush. Getting it done at 140k after doing a drain and fill at 115k on a 2006 AWD 300

Well got home late so won’t be doing a oil change on the trans. Working on my avalanche. Drove the car to pick up some oil and I finally got a code. A c1201( engine control malfunction)and a p0761(shift solenoid “c” performance or stuck off).

So I decided to change the transmission fluid on the Lexus. Looks like I have a leak from the pan. Oil was black like engine oil. Drained 2qts. Added close to 3 quarts drained closed to 1qt through the overflow. Oil was still black. I’ll pick up some more oils a filter and gasket tomorrow and change that out maybe do a few more flushes. Transmission is going to work or go completely out. Haha.

I’ve also noticed that when I’m in Drive if I bump the pedal it goes forward for a second then feels like the brakes where applied. Also car doesn’t go forward until the gas pedal is pressed
