Default P0751 on lexus gs300

Hello everyone,

I have a 2006 gs300 car that has a code P0751, it causes the vehicle to skip the 2nd gear when downshifting. I took it to a car shop and they told to replace the ecm, which will cost $2800.
Does anyone have any info regarding this?

Thanks!
Some comments mentioned the ecu, but I feel like you are right it is only the solenoid. I am going to another car shop tomorrow, but I would love to see if someone had this problem and fixed it before.

Took it to a car shop and the manager told me it is actually a different code now, it is p0756.
They said changing the solenoid won't fix the problem, they quoted $ 2500-3500 for a new transmission.

That code you mentioned is also pointing to the solenoid, I think you should try another shop to have a second opinion or even the Lexus Dealer, all posts I have found point to solenoid or transmission ECU.
