Default P0057 O2 Sensor - Check Engine/VSC

So my 2008 GS350 AWD has had the Check Engine/VSC light on for a while. I was near a dealer the other day and stopped and asked them to let me know the issue. They said $180 to run diagnostics. I said "huh!" He said we can tell you the code for free though. I said ok. So they plugged it in and it came back with the P0057 code, which from looking around is the O2 sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 2). I think, if I'm right, the part number from Denso is 234-4519 (Downstream Left) and is about $65. I saw some good diagrams onlin. Just wondering if anyone has changed one and how hard is it? Any suggestions?

I know this is an old thread but did you ever fix this? What was the solution, just o2 sensor swap?

Its best to take your car to a mechanic with a good scan tool when dealing with o2 sensors. With the scan tool they can tell which o2 sensor is bad, and how it compares with the other when they are heating up. It could possibly be something else like leaking exhaust pipe.

If the sensor is actually bad, I would buy oem or denso brand

If you replace the downstream O2 sensor yourself, do yourself a favor and purchase this specific tool designed for Toyota/Lexus. Fits perfect in the tight spacing. This tool, with a little PT Blaster the night before, will make it a breeze. Also, be careful removing the carpet and plastic panels...easy to break clips.

Also agree with ibidu1, buy only OEM or Denso brand. RockAuto has a very good price on the Denso.

Good luck.
