Another "Check Headlight" question..
what's up everyone, haven't posted in a while.
my stock lexus gs350 headlights winded up cracking and breaking. So i thought i'd be nice if i bought the eBay specials with these he LED strinto give them some sort of style. I replaced only one ballast with another factory toyota ballast and new HIDs. All lights work great and fits well. Only annoying issue i have is that the dashboard detects there is a problem with the headlights itself, so it gives me a "Check Headlight" display with the warning triangle. After searching the forums i can't find anyone else that has his issue, but people do have these lights installed.
Ppl are talking about the AFR light, but i'm sure my gs350 doesn't come with that option, plus that light is not on, on my dashboard.
Any input will help to get rid of this warning light. thanks

Actually, the only way to read the AFS ecu trouble codes is with techstream.
Did you connect all plugs to your headlight? Parking Lights, high beam, does the drl works? Remember they are the dame high beams but dimmed, check that the high beams are in good state.
Something else did you lower your car recently? I will also check the height sensors front and rear that can also trigger the check headlight.
Finally, since you have aftermarket headlights, do you remember purchasing them with AFS equipped?

Yes, i can see that they come without swiveling motors inside, then that's your problem mate. If you dont mind loosing it and your lights pointing low, simply pull your AFS fuse out, disconnect negative terminal for 20 mins, connect battery again and test.
You will have to adjust your projectors manually to align

I'm more interested in this aftermarket HID assembly. I've seen these listed on ebay before, but this is the very first time I've seen them on a GS model. They look gorgeous
QUESTIONS
1. How long have you had them?
2. Can you vouch for the quality of the product and the vendor?
3. What's the kelvin temperature of the HIDs? (Stock is 4300K on my GS)
4. Do you have more photos with just the DRLs on? Day and night photos?

2. I actually found out about this product from another thread of these forums regarding the quality of the product. Vendor i purchased them from are based in salt lake, utah. UPS lost my package but they helped me out with everything. I think they are actually not bad in quality, i'm just unsure about the seal for the low-beam bulb. It's just a cap, so i'm hoping that will be ok. Just make sure your OEM chrome trim around the headlights are in good shape because i had to reuse mine.
3.Stock 4300k, heard you can go up to 6000k on stock ballast? not sure. D4s bulbs.
4. Photos on that link are pretty much how it looks.
Many vendors on eBay i see sell these lights for all different prices. I guess just do your reviews before choosing one company instead of going with the cheapest. I chose vipmotoz

Sorry to hijack the thread. Hows the light output? I'm looking at a set to replace the awful spider cracks on the inside.

hard for me to compare to stock because my OEMs' were in really bad shape. But to my standards, these will do the job. plenty of light. your just gonna have to adjust the height of the bulb.

I realize this is a pretty old thread but it fits my issues.
A week or so ago I installed those AM headlights in my daughters new 06 GS 300. Old ones were toast and beyond repair. look great, although I want to change the traditional DTRL’s from the dim brights to the LED’s but first things first.
Put in new everything and they worked well, no warning messages. Yesterday I changed out inner CV boots and upon starting it up when I was done I’m now getting the Check Headlights warning. All the lights work just as they did before I did the boots. I disconnected the battery for about 10min, it wiped the windows, sunroof seats etc. but the damn Check Headlights warning came back on.
Im stumped.
