Steering column noise on start-up
Guys,
When I press the START button, I hear a whirring-type mechanical squeak noise coming from the steering column as it moves into place; it only happens on HOT days when the inside of the car heats up. I am guessing a seal or bushing swells up during the hot temp and causes the noise? It is VERY annoying. Have you guys experienced this, and how do I fix-it?

Never had to deal with it myself, but I've heard it on other cars. Only way to fix it is to take off the plastic panels on the steering column and lubricate all the moving parts with silicone or PTFE lube – Krytox is a good one, and can be used for other things like weather stripping as well. And the tilt and telescope functions are controlled by separate systems, so that can help narrow down where the problem is
