Unhappy GS460 Engine knocking sound

Hi
I have a problem in my 2008 gs460 with 86k.
There is a knocking sound+ lake of power
My car is USA Version and I am from middle east so the dealership will not receive my car

This is the video link so you can see and hear the sound
better to use headset it will be more clear.

Is there a local mechanic shop that specializes in Lexus? That is your best bet, otherwise you might be stuck on your own.

Already inspected by A mechanical technician. He said that the sound come from the tappet valve.

Adviced to change the oil from 5w-30 to 5w-20.

LMAO When I read knocking sound I for sure thought that engine was destroyed. You cant kill that engine that easily!

Where in the middle east are you in?

Mine made the exact same noise, but only when the engine is cold. I took it to a mechanic, and he topped off the oil, which got ride of the noise completely. He said that noise is the result of either low, or dirty oil. When I got it back, the oil level was way too high, so I don't think it was low to begin with. I changed the oil a couple days later with 5W-20 as I have been since the car was brand new. I haven't heard the noise since, which is about 2 months now. I have been keeping my eyes on the level, and it's right in between the low and high part of the dipstick. What really fixed it? I don't really know, but maybe because it was a little low on oil.

I had the recall done on my Lexus, same sound .. I've come to the realization that this is one of the sound characteristics of this specific engine. This Clicking (or knock) comes and goes for no apparent reason and I've heard brand new, from the showroom engines, produce the exact same sound.
I have, however, changed my oil to 5W-30 Royal Purple and haven't heard it since (about 3000 miles).

So you can move on and enjoy this remarkable car..

With direct injection I've given up getting worried that I'm hearing a tick or noise. I came from a 4.6 mustang that I bent a rod on lol so I know what a knock or tick feels/sounds like. I've come to the conclusion that as long as I don't let my water pump fail or run the engine on low oil I should have a pretty solid engine for a long time to come. I have been on these forums for a while and have yet to see a thread pop up on a blown motor let alone on a 460 or 430 so it makes me sleep a little better at night lol.

Contact Lexus and tell them your local Lexus dealer will not take in your car. If you want help, I can ask Bahrain Lexus office to help you.

Fuel is so cheap here, most Lexus models are V8. GS460's are very common site here.

In the past I called Lexus about covering recalls or warranty issue of export my car to another country. Lexus US stated that any US vehicle will be repaired world wide, if the dealer refuses. You can pay for the services out of pocket and Lexus US will refund the money to you.
