Leaking Tranny Oil from driver Side (Manual Valve Seal Info Needed)
Hi guys,
I dont drive my 07 GS350 much and is usually parked for 5 days before use. So I Noticed A think oily small quarter size oil on my garage floor. Positive its not coolant as it has a "geary" smell, its pink and thick.
My lexus dealer told me there was a slight leak on a seal (no other explanation) IM assuming its the seal near the driver side transmission pan its called the Manual Valve seal.
Im getting conflicting results on my research i have two part numbers: 9031112002 and 90311A0009. What are the differences? Which is correct for my 07 gs350?
Also i saw that there is a box that is covering this seal correct?
Does this require dropping the transmission pan, fluid, ect?
Dealer quoted me 700 to drop the pan, replaced fluid, pan gasket, the seal. Is this reasonable? Is dropping the pan necessary to replace the seal? I aleady did a service on my transmission and dont need to change fluid only the seal.

Try this! go under the car grab a 10mm socket and tighten the bolts on the transmission and oil pan. Then use some degreaser and spray the leaking oils off the engine. Then after a week or so look under the car and see if theres a leak or not and if there is you should be able to spot it better once cleaned

Just be sure not to tighten the bolts too much – factory specs for the transmission pan bolts is 39 inch-pounds, so be very careful if you're not using a torque wrench
