Default Tire Pressure will not reset - flashing

Summary:
2007 RX350
Temp got cold; TPMS came on (steady)
Added air to 32psi (was at 28psi)
did the RESET procedure
light went out

next day light was flashing
forum says TPMS probably bad (why not, since they are 10 years old now)
purchased and had my local tire shop replace all 5 TPMS sensors (they set tire pressure at 30psi)

But, the light will still not reset. It continues to flash. When doing the reset, It goes into the slow flash for 3 times, but then into a faster flash.

Would this be User Error, or something else? Am I failing to do something?

I have an OBDII, but it does not have an option for tire pressure
I tried the "2nd set of tires" switch, but that didn't change anything

I've noticed that the tire pressure light eventually goes "steady" - am I not giving it enough time to "register"?

Did the mechanic shop register all the tpms onto the ecu or did they just install the sensors?

Standard OBD@ readers wont do Lexus tires. You need Techstream:

The tire shop just installed them and tried the "reset". Their scan tool guy was out Saturday and no one else knew how to use it.

I have noticed that every time I start the car the tire light flashes, but then after a few minutes, goes to steady. All tires are at 30psi, even the spare.
Right now I've put the system on "2nd set of tires" setting.

Question: Owners Manual says that the "Main" setting is for factory installed TPMS. Does that mean I will have to keep this at "2nd set" setting from now on?

There is your problem! The mechanic should have registered all the TPMS into the ecu. You cannot simply press reset, because you replaced all new TPMS youll need to take it to a tire shop that has a TPMS scanner tool. Once you have the shop register the sensors the light should go away

Go to a Lexus dealer for proper diagnosis.
