Default Power meter during acceleration

Hi!

Last week I bought a 2007 Lexus GS 450h and I noticed that when full throttle the power meter does not go higher than 150-160KW. Can somebody tell me what is the reason? The phenomenon is independent of the setting, whether it is sports or power mode. I have no experience and benchmark, but it is accelerating good, no hesitations, or like that. All YT video has already reached around 100 km/h to 200 kW...
There may be a catalyst problem?
What happens if the catalyst is removed? There will be some error message ( e.g check engine light)?

The service center couldn't help me.

Thanks in advance!

Hey hey,

I have a 2007 GS450h as well. Important to know. there are 2 versions of the car, one with 218KW and one with 250KW so please first look at the papers what kind of version you have. In Europe the 218KW model was introduced because of taxes being a lot lower on cars under 220 KW.

Then ... when you accelerate you will notice it is a 2 step CVT, in the first gear let's say (until around 80 km/h) you will not have full power, as far as I understood this has something to do with limiting the torque vector for the gearbox. Once it goes in second gear mine goes up to 250 KW :-)

hope it is of some kind of help. I can try to make a video of mine but have to charge my gopro and attach it to my steeringwheel.

Hi!

Thank you very much for your answer, but my problem was solved. It was an interesting problem because there is a black bumper under the accelerator, which probably no one has pressed down fully and it was stuck. Some accelerated after the problem is resolved. Notwithstanding this, I wonder your video!

Have a nice trip and thanks again!
