Default 07 ES to 10 GS

Hello everyone, I know this question may've been asked before but I'm considering a jump from my ES to GS 350 AWD and I'm wondering what's the common problems of the GS and what should I expect from the car? Maybe some of you went from my generation ES to the GS and can tell me the difference and what you like or dislike of the GS?

There is nothing to dislike about the GS. I just made this swap and am very pleased I did.

Roadholding will be much improved. Ride is still compliant but doesn't have the floaty feeling of the ES.

I almost bought an ES myself but the softness killed it. And the interior isn't as good as the GS

Well I just test drove one today, I must admit the handling is so much better and the feedback on the steering wheel is perfect but I must be honest, the ES is way smoother, roomier inside in front and back and is softer on the road but I knew from the beginning that these two cars are different categories.

You must like a stiff ride more than a softer one. For the interior, I like the ES more because of it's classic design.

I went from a 11 ES to an 08 GS350 AWD. The car is more planted and obviously more powerful. Very stable ride with better handling. Fit and finish is a tad better as well. The ride is compliant without the small wallow of the ES.

I liked the ES, and I love the GS.

I test drove the a 07 ES350 and it was very smooth. I ended getting 01 GS430 because it handles a lot better. The only complaint I have with the GS is that it is not as roomy as the ES. If you want a little more fun on your commute than the GS is the way to go.

Okay I have to agree about the handling but disagree about the power, the engine of the GS has more HP but it doesn't mean the car is faster. Maybe that's the case for the RWD GS but definitely not the AWD. I drove the AWD one and I can feel the car is heavy. What makes you think the GS is more powerful is because the throttle is very sensitive and you feel the car jump and the transmission always changes from 1st to 2nd gear at high ( 2500-3000 ) rpm like the 4 cylinder cars if you accelerate normally and it always does that on ONLY the 1st gear. Unlike my ES, it's very smooth it shifts at ( 1500 - 1600 ) rpm. Also, what's up with the rattle noise everywhere, I drove 2 GS's 2008 and 2010 with 65K and they both very loud.

That's true. I wish the ES was AWD but I guess they made it for certain people

Disagree all you want. The GS350 is .7 seconds quicker than the ES350 to 60.

Sounds like the GS is not the right car for you.

He asks a question for which he has already formulated the answer.
