Rear defrost doest work. Has anyone fixed this?

Rear defrost doest work. Has anyone fixed this?
Noticed today after a freak late snowfall. If the heated mirrors are working and the light comes on does that pretty much mean it is the connections or heat grid at the window? Has anyone done the repair at the rear window? thanks for any responses.
