Default GS300 AWD Reliability Update

Just wanted to write a quick note as it's been a while since I've been around.

I bought the GS300 AWD 6 years ago in 2010, used, It has had it's fair share of engine work done by Lexus, including the big job they did out of warranty. It had a few smaller things go wrong while still under warranty, wheel bearing on one wheel replaced. O2 sensors got replaced in the rear.

After 6 years of driving this already well used car, and I hope I'm not jinxing it, the only repair that I've had to pay out of pocket for was to have the rusty exhaust repaired with some new sections of stainless steel. That's it, really.

A lot of people knock the reliability of this model but considering Lexus took care of the most egregious of the issues for free, even long after the warranty was done, the lack of problems I've had with the car over all has been remarkable really.

I plan on driving the car as long as possible, but when I feel like it has outlived it's usefulness to use finally my next car will be another Lexus.

I'm with you Jay, the only big thing coming from my pocket was my steering rack replaced and the wheel hub bearing, but other than that it's going strong and engine is still very good. I'm also about to change my rusty exhaust, which one did you end up getting?

2006 GS300 110K miles still going strong though the exhaust is shot...What exhaust did you end up going with.

I'm looking to do the hole Inviaid mid-pipe replacement and how a shop adjust the tubing to fit.

What exhaust setup did you go with?

Good to hear you guys have been generally trouble free. In the last 2 or 3 years our beloved 3GS's value has dropped significantly in the private market. Just yesterday I was on craigslist and found a 06 GS300 AWD for $6200.00- That is very low. I have seen Second Gen GS300/400's go for that price... I think we are placing our cars undervalue to be honest. I find that the 3GS is aging very well in comparison to new cars.
