Hey not sure how to refer to the headlights but here is what is happening. with the outer headlights (HID) off via the switch, both of the inner (lights next to HID) lights are on and working but when I turn on the outer (HID) lights the inner pasenger light turns off. if I turn off the headlights then the inner light turns back on. has anyone seen heard of or repaired this? not sure where to start looking

 

Normal. The Daytime Running Lights will shut off when the main Headlights are on and comes back on when the Headlights are off.

 

is it normal for the passenger inner light to shut off and the driver inner light to stay on? That is what is happening

 

Sound like a bulb is out or maybe even DRL fuse is out. Both should be on when the headlights are off and both should be off when the headlights are on.

 

yeah that's the weird thing both are on when the hid's are off and only the passenger turns off when the hid's are on. It couldn't be a bad bulb or fuse since both are coming on in daytime mode.

 

There are 2 set of bulbs in the inner headlight the big one (9005) for drl when headlights are off and a small one (194) these will light up with headlight on. looks like u need a new 194/t10 bulb on passenger side

 

You are right Thanks I'll go with some LED bulbs and see how they look
