Default Vaistech SL3B Install Help

In my 2009 GS-350 I was able to get to the back of the head unit much easier than initially thought.

-I removed the 20-pin connector from the head unit (driver's side bottom of the unit)

-Plugged the head unit 20-pin connector it into the Vaistech harness

-Plugged the Y-harness 20-pin connector into the head unit (same spot that was just unplugged)

-Connected to the SoundLinq

I then proceeded to follow the instructions for the CD-MP3 emulation mode which requires the left switch down on the SoundLinQ unit. I turned the car on and waited for beeps... nothing. I tried maybe three more times and then gave up since it started getting dark.

Can someone please provide some pointers as to what I may be doing incorrectly?

Thanks!

you just have to try again. couple of tips

1) do you have beeping disabled in your nav? if so, that's a problem, you need to enable it
2) if it doesn't work (no beeping, doesn't recognized, etc...), try this. with the unit plugged into the head unit (but car shut off), flip both switches to the off position. unplugged the module and let it sit for a while. then with both switches on the off position, plug it in. now flip the left switch down. start programming again (start the car, etc...)
3) without pressing on the brakes, did you press the start button once or twice? i think you need to press twice (foot off brakes)

I'll piggy back on this thread. I had issues with this as well and finally got it working with some kinks. For instance, it has to 'initialize' every time I start the car. So it won't let me control anything as far as song, volume or screen for about 30 seconds to a min whenever I start the car. None of the buttons (off or on the screen) work until it registers.

Also, just out of curiosity, why is there no play/pause for tape/cd/ipod? Am I missing that somewhere?

Thanks, bud. I tried it again and it works great. Much better sound than the aux and I would say about the same as CD!

Is it or will it be possible to skip through playlists/folders with Android devices? Is there a firmware upgrade coming soon? Would be nice!
