Liberty Mutual Right Track Installed
Not sure if this is the place for this posting, but I decided to go ahead and install a tracking device from Liberty Mutual to see if it can lower my rates. I tried to research this and found little so hope this helps others.
Right now I have three installed, a 08 GS350 that I drive, a 2001 GS430 that my Daughter drives, and the family trip van, a Honda Odyssey. You can log in and see how you are doing. Right now the Van and my Daughter are tracking for a 23% discount and I am tracking for 13%.
The program dings you for driving after Midnight to 4 am, and what liberty feels are quick starts and stops, and overall mileage. Smooth is what gets the discount. I decided to try it since you get 5% no matter what and the rate cannot go up. My first day out I drove like my Dad and got dinged for a quick acceleration "incident". The parameter is accelerating or decelerating what they consider quickly. I currently do not know what the numbers are. Something about a 7mph change in x seconds.
The test lasts for 90 days.
I will update the post as time goes on.

Not for me, just this morning I am waiting for my light to turn green so I can make my left turn. I guess I had a moment too long to ponder the purpose of life so I pulled back the arm rest, disabled the VSC and peeled out as soon as the light turned green, screeching tires, sliding and all (on my AWD)....
It made me feel great, felt like a good start to my commute. I wouldn't even consider one of these boxes, the fuel consumption gauge is already naggy enough
So, I completed my Liberty Mutual Right Track program about 3 weeks ago. I will tell you this. I had two installed, one on my GS350 and one on my wife's Honda Odyssey. In three months my wife's car only had about 12 incidents. In my GS I had about 200.
If you ask me, it's complete crap how they come up with what they consider fast acceleration. I'm the only one who drives my GS so all those incidents are mine. I drove my wife's Odyssey about a dozen times and not once did I get a fast acceleration incident; and I drove both cars the exact same way...
Here's an example of what they consider fast acceleration (from 7 to 13 MPH in under a second)... I had tons of these... I honestly think it's the way the car is geared, that to me is the only difference between how quickly one car gets to a certain MPH faster than the other because my foot operates the pedal in both cars the same way - besides the horsepower difference!
Either way, I was looking for a better percentage than I got, but every little bit helps. I think I ended up with 6% on the GS and 18% on the Honda.
Good luck with your 90 days!!

I was thinking the same thing, the way the car is geared I have been trying to take it easy. After your post I think I will switch the transmission into snow mode and skip first gear all together. Not sure if I can do that for 90 days.

I can definitely wait to see how your results pan out, but there's no telling you and I drive the same. If I can convince them to let me put the tracker back on and switch to "Snow" mode, any decreases in my incidents would definitely let me know it worked... I may call them tomorrow and see about trying a second time.
I will let you know. I am putting it in snow mode, and it helps but the hard brake thing is tough if you are in any kind of urban environment.
My driving habits are what I call " intelligently aggressive", others might have a different name for me but no tickets in a long time. No stupid stuff but quick, and always looking ahead for brake lights as far as I can see. Now in my UTE I had an S6, chipped and lowered , well I would say I did a few things that should have landed me in Jail.

Right Track has changed my driving habits and I am not sure its for the better. I have gone through more red lights that in the past I would have either slammed on the brakes for, or accelerated through the yellow. Not wanting to trigger an acceleration or braking incident have entered the intersection a few times as the light was turning.
So far tracking for a 15% discount in the GS350
My daughter is on track for a 15% discount in the GS430, she is in college and uses the car maybe three times a week.
The Honda mini van has gone a whopping 165 miles in two months and is tracking for a 23% discount. The Van has only one incident and it was in my driveway. My driveway is steep and I went in the wet grass with one wheel and spun it. Right Track thinks I went from 0 to 10 in a second.
RIght track looks like a great program for vehicles that do not get used that much. If I lived where it snows I would not do the program in the winter.

Worked great for the car I never drive, got 24% off with only one incident and 800 miles driven in 90 days. So there is no way they will give you better than 25% even though the scale shows up to 30% off. For my daughters GS430 she drove 1500 miles, 1% after midnight, 5 rapid accelerations, and 21 hard braking incidents. Her discount is 12%. I had to start over because I waited to long to install the device, right now tracking at 13%. I have 5 rapid accelerations and 14 hard braking. I have really increased my following distances to avoid these. For example going from 40 to 1 mph in 4 seconds counted against me. That was a green turning yellow and I was 10 over the limit to start.
Now to game the system I could drive the Mini Van for a few months, and park the GS350, but that's not going to happen.
