So I've known that when you have your car on and you walk out with the key and try to lock it with the FOB it doesn't lock.... Is this normal? or they just didnt think of it?

Yes it's normal...if you want to lock it you have to use the physical key.

I can't think of any reason why I would want to leave the car running and walk away from it anyway?

HAHA.... and to think something like that was on the front page of CL. Well idk maybe just to do some like small errands like dropping things off going to buy something quick and leaving... Idk wouldn't having to start the car alot be bad or something?

In hot countries like ours, many people leave their cars running with A/C on. Locking it would be an additional safety feature.

I can lock it by touching the button on the door handle as long as I have my key fob on me. I do it all the time when picking up dry cleaning...or if the family is in the car when I need to run into Home Depot or Lowes...

That's good to know, I haven't actually tried that. I leave the car running all the time when I go to drop my dry cleaning off so will give this a go.

Both 2011..I have an M37 and QX56...which were both new designs but I believe they have been allowing you to lock a running vehicle using the button on the door handle for a few years before.
