Default AWD front axles

I have torn cv boots from lowering the car, dealer quoted me $1200 for the repair, I searched for the axles only and I haven't seen anything for less $300 per side, is there any other options or should I just bite the bullet? All help is appreciated.

Sound like you have to bite the bullet...or see if you can just buy a boot kit and find someone willing to rebuild them.

Have you tried another lexus dealer? I was in a similar situation and paid about $700 at a Lexus dealership, another quoted me around 1k. Do you have a trusted independent shop around you?

Mine is 2007 GS AWD. I doubt it's directly due to being lowered. CV boots are a wear and tear part. How many miles do you have and how many since lowered?

Nah I don't trust any of these shops, I could try Toyota but I was gonna let a friend change them. I'm close to 100k and it's been lowered for about 8k I raised the coilovers back up for my winter setup.

Ok, I had about 120k on mine and lowered (around 2inches)for about 50k miles before mine leaked. It was my driver's side, if that matters for price comparison. I tried Toyoya and they wouldn't do it, because they didn't want to warranty the work, which was a fair enough reason for me.

^^ Nice find but those are not OEM, but "OEM" quality. I wouldn't bother with anything not OEM if its connected to the the motor and drivetrain.

I agree....ive seen "OEM" like quality (cheap ones) cause terrible vibrations and actually come apart causing $$$$ of damage...only OEM for me....

Jin Automotive in Roselle NJ.

They will rebuild the OEM axle. They are an automotive machine shop who carries these things on hand through there exchange. You bring them your core and they give you the rebuilt one or swap it out wiht one they have on hand. You will find other members have had sucess here other than me as well.

Axle was like 180 a side. $240 if you let them send it down the street to install by there actual repair shop they deal with.

If you just buy directly from them without the exchange, they will give you an OEM axle not some junk.
