Default New wheels dont fit :(

I recently purchased these wheels for my 2006 GS430 and I brought them to discount tire and the front wheels wont clear the caliper. What should I do now? I have never had this issue before.

maximum amount on stock lugs is 5mm. you may need to get spacer adapters if it still doesn't clear.

When you say maximum amount on stock lugs is 5mm are you referring to offset? Like if the stock wheels are 45 offset the most I could do is 40 offset?

This happened to me too. If I were you, I would try to return the wheels so you don't have to worry about spacers, or vibration later on. But, if you keep the wheels you'll need spacers and centric lug nuts. Thats the route I went. I almost feel like selling my wheels and re-ordering the same wheels but in the correct spacing.

He is referring to a wheel spacer for the hub. What offsets are your wheels, or is that the spec above in the picture? Have you tried to get at least an exchange if the website "suggested" that the rims would work?

I havent talked to carid.com yet. The photo shows the wheels I ordered for my car. Right now I am running the stock 18" 5 spoke GS wheels on my 06 430. If I remember correctly they are 45 offset but Im not sure. Id prefer not to have spacers on my car. I just dont know wheel specs very well and trusted their site.

im talking about a plate thats 5mm that sandwiches inbetween the wheel and hub. A "wheel spacer adapter" is a spacer that is usually 20mm or more and bolts on to the factory lug nuts and has its own studs that your wheels bolt onto.

offset doesn't really play a factor unless the wheel company designs the mounting surface on the wheel by offset. what matters is the disk size which about 90% of companies fail to put on the description. however they can measure it by offset because some companies do so... at that point is when you need to call them.

this image depicts what i mean for what is needed to clear our brakes. from my understand our front require medium/high disk and our rear can be super low disk

basically, for example you can have a 0 offset but a high disk which would make the wheels look like they have no lip at all. or you can have a +20 offset with a super low disc that will have like a 4" lip

I think I get what you are trying to tell me. The part of the wheel that mounts to my hub isnt thick enough so the spokes hit the caliper. But the offset doesnt always take into consideration the depth of the hub mount.

Correct!

if a company that im getting wheels from doesn't specify those specs i always call them first.

but remember other companies call them other things like work wheels i believe they call the disk types by letters.

try returning them for sure or exchanging. if anything you can try to sell them on craigslist or another forum.

Try to return them, only reason I kept mine is because the vendor had spacers and centric lugs at my door the very next day. Little did I know, discount tire will not touch my front wheels because of the spacer. And when driving 80 or so I get a slight vibration and i'm sure its because of these spacers. TRY TO RETURN THEM, I trusted the website too when ordering.

according to your picture... fitment says "verified" with that case alone i would return them at no cost to you. now if you want to keep these wheels im pretty sure a 5mm or 7mm spacers will help solve your issues without changing out to longer wheel studs. if you're one of caution and would like to change out wheel studs its not that hard either, just takes a lil elbow grease.

Just call the company and return them for the right offset ones. Good luck.
