Just got my car back yesterday and everything looks good EXCEPT...when I brake there is now some vibration that was not there before. I called the dealership since they work directly with the body shop and did the alignment following the bodywork. They said I need to take it back to the body shop. Which is the last thing I want to do, I do not want to go back to Enterprise to pay for a rental once again. You would think that this is mechanical and wouldn't be related to the bodywork they did on the rear.

Lesson to be learned: if they want to total the car, total it. Also, complain a lot if they want to end the rental.
I also ran into the issue of a car being repaired for longer than 30 days and the insurance company wanting to take the rental away. It took me going up two levels of supervisors, but in the end I got them to give me a rental car for the duration of the repair, which took 47 days, and I ended up in a premium rental for the final 17 days. As a note, this was with the insurance of the person that caused the accident and I wouldn't recommend going on a rampage like this with your own insurance.

That could be a number of things...

How long did the car sit?

The car sat for about 2 and half months. After driving it around some the shimmying has definitely decreased about 80% possibly more. My buddy thinks it might have been some rust.

That is crazy. You would think your own insurance would go the extra mile especially if the money could be recovered through subrogation or arbitration.

Yep....thats long enough for rust and things to bind up...also that shimmying could have been flat spotting of the tires too.

I just looked at this and saw a post I made. I just got mine totaled I think and I saw my post about "it needs a few more hits" I guess I was referring to my Passat that has been hit on all 4 sides that I am renting out right now. As soon as I got hit I want that thing totaled I don't want the GS back.
