2008 GS350 Rwd
Rear proximity sensor goes off the majority of the time when I go into reverse. And the it's cold or raining, front and rear go off occasionally even when driving. Does anybody know how to disconnect/ turn off sensors? I would rather go without then replace them. Thanks

In the smugglers box there is a button for the parking sensors, just turn it off.

That would be on the left side of the steering wheel? Where my mirror controls are? Do you know what the button is labeled as?

Within the menu on the console screen there's a way to toggle settings for the park assist

My guess is he has some aftermarket sensors installed (or the previous owner before him). In that case you would have to investigate if there is an on/off button somewhere.

Just to confirm, do you have a green "P)))" that lights up on your dashboard? If you don't have that green icon, you probably have an aftermarket installed sensor.

If you do, then there must be a reason you don't have that button in your drop down box

Thanks man, no green P)))) . So it may be aftermarket, I just got the car in January from a lexus dealer, I don't want to ask them sense I'm sure they will just want me to bring it in and replace em. Hmm back to the drawing board

I'm trying to resolve the opposite. I'm trying to figure out how to turn ON the park assist on my 3GS. I don't have the 'green P' either. I used to hear the park assist noise, but somehow it has disappeared.

I bought the car 3 years ago, it might have come with custom park assist with no button. Let me know if you figure out where the on/off switch. Thanks!

Call the dealer, give them your VIN and simply ask them if the car came with park assist. They're not going to charge you or tell you to come in. Then, you'll know for sure. Lexus dealers have an on-site tech guy to answer questions about their cars, I called them several times when I bought my GS a few months back and they were very helpful.
