This and the check engine light came on when I started the car this morning. Its an 06 GS300 with just under 53K miles....any hints on what it would be and how much it is to fix ? Going in on Wed to be looked at. Thanks,
Seriously, any hints (aka guesses) wouldn't be worth your time reading w/o more info. You can wait until Wed for your service appt or.... go to any national auto parts store (Advance, AutoZone, O'Reilly, etc.) and they will pull the OBDII diagnostic codes absolutely FREE. Code(s) will read like this: P_ _ _ _ (4 digit #) and most times whoever pulls them can also suggest a POSSIBLE cause (and/or look it up based on model in their computer). .
Post back (or search the forum) w/ the diagnostic code(s) given. If you ask nicely (and it's not a serious code and you have a good clerk) they may reset/clear it for you too. Even if you have an appt I'd still do as there's nothing wrong w/ you have a little info before a tech (who may or may not be well trained) starts testing fixe$ and part$ at your expense (particularly important when an error code is O2 sensor related. All that code means is value reported by sensor is out of spec. Many an unscrupulous shop will simply start by replacing sensors at $100+ per w/ labor only to find that doesn't fix the underlying problem.... as it could be so many other things).
Good luck
