Default Roof “rain gutter” filler panel cover up by factory?

Spot the difference?

Took the car through an auto car wash this morning & noticed this peeling up. Turns out it peels off just like a sticker / vinyl wrap to reveal this brushed metal the texture underneath!

Other #3GS owners: have you seen this before? And is it okay to leave that exposed? It looks like stainless or brushed aluminum, so it shouldn’t rust… right?

I’ll get better pictures later today.

Awesome! I really like the look, so I was hoping that was the case. Now to get the remaining stubborn spots off… gonna have some GooGone standing by just in case.

Yeah.. Scotty Kilmer even did a review on Youtube of the 3gs and his only complaint was the paint coming off those strips. I think he basically said why even paint them, they look nice and match the window trim. I think they look fine without the paint, as well. I'd probably peel it all off.

I actually found that video just before you replied lol. I got 85% of it off when I made this thread originally. The last 15%ish is still stuck on pretty good, and there’s also some adhesive left behind in other spots I need to get off as well, but that’s definitely the plan.
