Jerk/jolt/clunk when coming to a stop
I spoke to ta1972 and he had the same problem I was having which is a hard clunk when coming to a stop as the car get below 10mph now if you are having this same problem and having hard shifting then the problem is not your transmission its your main ECU. Like you I too went to Lexus for them to check the car out and the told me my transmission need to be replace...so I got a used one and ended up with the same problem and was getting frustrated. I ended up talking to Ta1972 and replacing the ECU and now my car drives like its brand new.
If lexus told you to replace and still the same, then you should complain to them for misdiagnose first.
They have to take responsibility for that. If they can't help you, then you would need to find out your ecu part number. You would have to get the exact part number to marry it to the car.
Pm me if you need some advice.

Did you say you replaced the ECU and it fixed the problem. I have a 2006 Lexus gs300 .

No Lexus was very adamant that the transmission was the problem and wanted me to replace it. So I ending buying the ECU from them with my shop discount it's about $1200 without it it $1550 ...and it solve my problem.
Did your shop reprogram the ECU for you as well ?
My 2006 gs300 jerks as well when coming to a stop, usually a soft one then a hard jerk. I took it to the shop today they think its the transmission but it shifts and drives fine only when stopping. Any thoughts anyone?
The Ecu runs about 1400-1500 , and a 130.00 for installation.
Taking car to the dealer tomorrow, unplugged the battery, unplugged the ecu 10amp fuse no change. Ill keep you guys posted on what the outcome is. Still a soft jerk then a hard one when stopping.
[QUOTE=ta1972;8953001]It's finally fixed!!! I'm super happy!!! It was the fricken ecu all this time!!! Lexus should make this a recall!!
