Question Practical Inconspicuous Modifications To Stock GS

I know that this forum is subscribed to by a wide cross section of GS afficionados. A significant number of Club Members get into serious modifications, some restrained, others nominal and there are those like myself, who are more interested in staying stock. However, I would like to know, apart from LED lights and K&N air filters ETC, what are some of practical, affordable, inconspicuous modifications that can be done, or you have made, that makes a positive difference but leaves the car pretty much stock looking?:

How much do you are you planning on spending?

Get the OEM/JDM lip kit (prob cost about 2k) but replicas are available and lower it with F-Sport springs which is a 1 inch drop.

I'm always a big fan of a bull horns mounted on the hood. Still looking for a perfect set for my gs 430.

"Modification" and "stock" do not go well together.

Wheel spacers & f-sport sway bars. I guess if you go with any f-sport part you are technically still stock.

I'm also keeping my 07 GS450H stock looking and have done these inconspicuous mods so far:

1. Vaistech MML USB-drive music adapter. This is a must if you want to enjoy the real potentional of the Mark Levinson system. The audio sounds better than both radio and CD and yes, more bass.
2. LED lights for trunk, reverse, mirror puddle light, parking/city light. HID fog lights. Always aimed for 4300K OEM white colour.
3. Silver OEM seat clips.

Honestly, I like the look of the car as stock so much that I don't want to alter anything.

The "OEM+" style is my favorite. "Stock", but yet not.
  • Wheel spacers (15mm front, 20mm rear)
  • ISF Wheels & Continental ExtremeContact DW tires (staggered fitment OE ISF tire sizes)
  • F Sport sway bars
  • Stoptech brake pads with OE Lexus rotors
All of the above have contributed to the "look" (ok, except the sway bars you can't see) but have drastically improved the feel & actual performance. The GS has sport suspension geometries that were tuned with springs/shocks/sways/bushings to be more "touring" than "sport". Put a little more of the "sport" into the equation, and the result reveals more of the GS's dormant driver's car DNA!

Adaptec Speedware, they are the bolt-on type

I've been happy with them from day 1; no vibrations and good quality. I run them all year long, and we get snow in Indianapolis. No worries.

I do switch out to my OE wheels (painted and with the ISF center caps) with all season tires during the winter, however.
