I am not sure if its the car recharging the battery everytime i step on the brake to cause that weak braking problem, but last time i had to do a emergency braking i slam my foot down on the brake as hard as I can and i feel the ABS was working with my tire squealing, but I feel the brake are so weak, i don't feel any "dive" feeling at all It took quite a long distance for my car to come to a complete stop, the brake pedel feel spongy, I am still on my stock noisy sqeaky pads so which i think it should have some good stopping power. my oil change is due in next 1000 miles that's when lexus will be changing my pad to a "low noise low dust one" which i was told by lexus this low noise pad will have EVEN weaker stopping power ?!

also my brake fluid should be fine but just in case i will do a brake flush just in case, anyone ever change their brake line? to a steel one or something better? what's other way to upgrade your brakes? I don't want to spend money on BBK because they are like on and off

Interesting, when I had my 3GS hybrid it really stopped hard a little to hard sometimes. I would maybe check the brake pads and see if they are worn down, also brake fluid should be checked could be that time, you can also check the brake lines maybe they are leaking some liquid.

Spongy feel part sounds like it is old fluid that needs to be fully bled

As far as breaking goes if you say you slam on the brakes, and the brakes lock up, but the car just squeels the tires, tells me you have a tire issue instead of a brake issue on that part.

Turn the rotors, slap new pads, and bleed the whole system. If you still get issues then I would inspect the tires.
