Satellite Ratio Question
I apologize ahead of time if I’m posting this in the wrong place, please advise in that case.
I bout a 2006 GS430 about three months ago and have been pretty happy all around. In fact I put a 1k mile road trip on the odometer this weekend and broke 26.5mpg; much better than I anticipated when purchasing the upsized engine package. The three areas I’ve been displeased with are the brakes, ride quality (fairly certain it’s due to the run-flats) and audio. I’m not much of a mechanic, but I’m going to attempt the breaks this weekend. Since the tires are in pretty good shape, I’ll probably just wait those out another year or so. Audio is where I’m having the most trouble with what I assumed would be a simple fix.
My radio has satellite capabilities but the radio is locked up on channel 184 so I can’t even tell whether it’s XM or Sirius. Also, I can’t get a radio code off of it since it won’t go down to channel 1. The local Lexus dealer told me it was an aftermarket satellite radio (given the large antenna in the upper passenger side of the windshield) and wouldn’t touch it. I went to a local shop that installs these types of things, spent $45 on labor and they couldn’t even find the satellite receiver to reset it. Told me it would be another hour of labor just to find it and possible another $400 to replace it if needed. The local shop claimed it was a “port install”.
I would love some advice if anyone has some. Thanks

Search in your uper trunk area or pull some of the compartments open. The antenna leads to if you can follow it. Also, if you are unable to locate it you can purchase one on ebay or amazon. I'm using the SCC1. And if you would like the ipod adapater, many here have the Vaistech or iSimple modules. All is of this you can install yourself easy.
