Default VAIS audio, how does this work?

Sorry for the noob question. I just bought a CPO 2007 GS 450h and I noticed an AUX cord in the glove compartment. I then looked through the owners manual and there is a VAIS Soundlinq SLI manual. I messed around with what the directions said to do but when I hit the SAT button it only takes me through SAT 1,2 and 3 (which currently works) but cannot play what the AUX cord is plugged into (my droid). Also its just an AUX cord, not an IPOD cord. Am I doing something wrong and should be able to connect the AUX cord to my phone and listen to music or is my car equipped with VAIS for SAT radio only? Thanks in advance for your help!

Perhaps I have SAT radio installed separate from the VAIS SLI and the SLI unit isnt even operational?

Im aware that the VAIS unit is an aftermarket product. Im assuming they left the VAIS SLI manual in the owners manual binder because it is installed in the vehicle. The AUX cable coming out of the glove box sparked this curiosity. I originally thought I was getting satellite radio because of the VAIS unit and wanted to use the AUX cord as well. Im now beginning to think the unit is not functional and the SAT radio is factory... Thanks for your input.

well if its an 07 then it has to be some aftermarket hookup because aux inputs didnt come standard to 08 and with satellite you would not need an aux input. if theres a vais manual in the car then thats probably what the plug is for.

I did this and nothing happened. VAIS support told me to do the same. I guess I have SAT radio separate and the VAIS unit is not functional. That was a tease! Thank you for the responses!
