Default Race Fuel Any Benefits!

So like it says, this is just my curiosity as I was told by another that Sunoco carries racing fuel which is basically 95-96 octane, Im just wondering if anyone has gotten this. If not I'm guessing I'll be the guinea pig to try it first on our cars. Your input is helpful on what you think, the pros and cons to wasting $70 on a 5 Gallon tank which is what they give.

Yeah wasn't sure I know our car is rated for 96 octane so was guessing the mileage may improve and also get better speed.

You wont get much power, and it all depends on the car aswell. If anything possible 5-6hp but you wont be able to feel 5-6hp lol

Now if you were able to change the car timing and be able to play with the cars mapping then yes you can see 10-15hp depending on the maps. But stock map 5hp!

About 4-5 BHP, if you're lucky.
Instead of being stupidly frivolous with that $70, give it to a local soup kitchen to help them help those less fortunate - especially this time of year.

^Well your supposed to put premium, which is 91-93 octane. You can getaway with regular gas but it creates problems.

I think that's what he is asking: what types of problems?

Worse case sure, pre-detonation that eats up plugs, pistons and valves or just diminished performance and/or mileage etc?

I've had to run 87 in my GS350 on several occasions and given my driving style did not experience any performance or mileage change. My commute however is 75% highway and I tend to drive like a granny most of the time. :-)

HOWEVER: due to the fact most just don't know "what" could happen, what you need to focus on is the fact that Lexus states: "Premium Required". VERY much different than my wife's SUV stating: "Premium Recommended".

Merry Christmas all,

^ did yours shivered like my gs430? it never shiver when using regular gas. but it does it from the first time start up with 91 gas till the second tank almost ran emptied. i fill the 3rd tank back to regular gas and it drove normal again. this is how my gs react to 91, so i wonder if others had the same reaction.
