We finally got power in our house, so that's good news. The bad news is, I lost my car. The car was flooded up to the roof. It took approximately 30 mins for the car to submerge. And I just stood and watched my car die. First the lights went on, then the alarm, then things inside the car started to turn on. There was nothing I could do, because the water was coming fast and it was coming from all the directions. It was simply too dangerous to go near the car. Not a single car survived where I live
I spoke with insurance. They said that, since it was salt water, the car is irreparable and is considered as total loss. I don't know if I should be happy about it ? I'm still kinda in a state of shock. It's being towed tomorrow to some yard where adjuster will give an estimate.
The sad thing is, the car had only 25k miles. I did not even get to drive it much, eventhough I had it for 4 years. I really hope that I will receive somethig from the insurance company.
My condolances! My cars are my only family, so this would be a nightmare for me. Hope you and your people are otherwise OK and recovering from the storms!
glad to hear you and yours are fine. you had one of the cleanest GSs, especially in terms of what you did to it. bright side... car can and will (i assume) be replaced. my question is what is your next car going to be? i assume you're staying in the Lexus family. can't say i feel your pain b/c that has never happened to me. i can't even imagine. anyway glad you and your family are fine... get another Lexus.
Thanks guys! Everyone is alright, thank god no one got hurt. The car will be replaced eventually, I just have not decided on what to get next. We'll see what I could get from the insurance company first.
Main thing you and familly is safe. Dam sucks about the car, keep the wheels! swap with stocks if you got them before they pick it up. And whatever parts u can part out
I believe about 50+ people died from the storm so the first thought is I'm glad that you are ok.
Sorry to hear about the car but I'm pretty sure the insurance will provide enough coverage to get another car. We in Florida know well the trauma from these storms. My prayers go out to all in your community.
Glad your ok man sorry about the car, its crazy how a hurricane did so much damage in the northern states. Hold your head up man its going to get better.
