Default Vaistech system ? / 2008 GS 350

Own a 2008 GS 350 no nav - no ML.

Looking to install some type of system for :

(1) Satelite radio

(2) Ipod integration

Any suggestions?

1. SAT Radio - SL3x or SL3s, depending on whether you prefer XM or SIrius.

2. iPod integration - SL3i, MML, or ML Plus.

You can see the difference between iPod integration on our website:
www.vaistech.com

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

if you only care about the audio and nothing ipod video, i would say

1) sl3x tuner kit for xm or sl2s tuner kit for sirius (forget about factory xm and the need to find tuner, etc...)

2) sl3i

you can daisy chain the units together. did a few and they work perfectly

is the shark fin antenna that came with my car made specifically for satelite radio?

Which is better?........XM or Sirius?

Can I put both Ipod integration & Satelite radio in together under just 1 unit with VAIS?

I don't need Ipod video.

Thanks.

shark fin is for sat, i think factory is only xm. i don't know if it can be used for sirius. i think vaistech has the adapter for you to use the shark fin with their units

no idea which one is better, i think it has to do with preference

there is no single vaistech unit that does both, you need 2

Vaistech makes an antenna cable you can use to get the sat signal from your sharkfin. I have it in my car and it works fine.

What do you mean by 'daisy chain the units together?'

the two units utilize the same plug behind the radio. so you connect each, program them individually. and then you chain them together

Just picked up my 06 GS430 last Wednesday, with ML and Nav. Didn't think there was a way to incorporate my Samsung Note (android), and got excited when I heard about the Vaistech Ivic(?). Unfortunately, that's only for 2007 and up that had the high res screen. So, I just ordered the Vaistech SL3i kit, which I will hook up to my old Iphone 4. At least it will sync with Itunes via wifi when in the garage so it will have my latest music. Really bummed though! Guess I need to work a little harder so I can get an 08!

But truly impressed by this machine. Amazing....

2000LX470,

Have you hooked up your Vaistech unit yet?

So you like your GS 430? How many miles?

Nope. Ordered yesterday hoping to get it this weekend. Looks like Monday is scheduled delivery for now.

Love the 430. I've had a 2002 Maxima SE and driven it for 9.5 years (and I"m normally a 3-4 year car guy) but it was a great vehicle. I don't drive much, and it only has 80K miles and has been maintained perfectly. But for what I consider not a whole lot more money, the step up in vehicle is huge. The GS has 62K on it. I can easily imagine driving it another 9 years.....

I ended up having the Vais products installed on my car a couple of days ago. Unfortunately I learned after the install that they installed the SL2i-up and SL2xd2 and did not utilize the shark fin (which they said they would).

Does anyone know how much better the updated SL3i and SL3x are? Unfortunately I was charged more for the old products than I would have paid for the SL3i and SL3x.

I will have to call them tomorrow and don't know whether to push for a discount or insist that they install the updated equipment.

They = the local shop? That doesn't sound good. Sl3i pricing is the same as sl2iup.

And to use the shark fin you need another cable adapter. You can talk to vaistech about that

Yes, a local shop (and authorized Vais dealer).
