Thanks! Now to ask a really dense question - the post up above said under the glove box and yours says under the steering column..... these refer to different sides in my world -

Ah, maybe yours is passenger side, since mine's UK (RHD) so not everything has been mirror-imaged.
Hey, at least it'll be in one of those locations - so you've a 50:50 of getting it first time!

I looked for ages trying to find mine, then I haphazardly came upon it while cleaning (LHD-passenger's side)

I know this is an old thread...I was looking for the TPMS switch and just found it under the glove box on my 2007 GS450H (US model) Its nearer to the center console. I'd take a picture but it is night time right now. Unfortunately for me, the switch was set to the main set and thus, didn't get rid of the warning message. I'm assuming the battery in one of the sensors is the issue.

Default Check System on lexus Rx400 h

Hi al, Just whanna share my experience with This “check system light”
i tried to fix it by every way what i was reading. nothing helped even changed batteries but still error.
so in my case i finally fixed it an i am very happy with that ))
so under the glove box there is the small button called TPMS switch it is for sets of tires. i just pressed it and voalia no more error. it was jus set on the 2nd sets of tires i set them on main an that’s it. hope will help someone.good luck
