Default Black gs 350 mods?

Hi everyone,

Im new to the site, and Ive just been going through some of the forums and there are some very knowledgeable people with very nice cars on here !! So i thought i would ask for some advice , if anyone has any i would greatly appreciate it.

I have a black gs 350 AWD 17% tint all around

I was interested in doing a bunch of things

#
1. getting oem 7 spoke rims painted gloss black, to make it black on black? how do you guys think that will look?

2. buying a set of rims and tires most likely 18 or 20s, do not want to get into the lowering business, is it possible to have a nice luxury looking gs with 20s no drop ? or should i stick with the 18inch rims if i do not want to drop it, and still have it look nice ? again i was thinking of going all black no chrome lips any feed back on that would be greatly appreciated.

3. would larger tires and rims hurt my car in terms of its durability and wear and tear on powertrain?

any advice would be very much appreciated

Go for 19' in gloss black and polished lips. You do not need to lower the car!

Welcome to CL. Check our regional forum "Canada" once in a while as well. There are many great members in our area and they are of great help. As for the wheels; 20" with no drop is a no go. It has been proven with many pictures to have a look of an SUV. The DF srpings as suggested by Whitena will produce a nice drop, but you have an AWD and will experience vibration when the car picks up speed from a stop. Instead, many members have used the NF210 with better success.

I would say get some new wheels and ditch the OEMs. I'm just not a huge fan of the 10 spoke wheels and never think they look good painted.
I would also recommend you first spend your money on some decent suspension first as I think you'll hate the look of larger wheels without a drop, makes the car look lifted. Then get wheels that fit the drop based on the drop you are comfortable with. Good luck!

Ditch the oem wheels, and get some lowering springs. You will fall in love!

I see you have an AWD, so you may want to search/read up on vibrations before you lower your car. On my AWD that's lowered, the vibrations are worse when it's cold out. In my opinion, OEM wheels look best and also if you change rims/tires the AWD fender gap looks awful. Good luck!

Oh.... Lowering your car will prob cost $300 on up depending on springs or coil overs and install.

I got a quote from Speedstar up in Markham as follow: 1) Tanabe NF210 springs $325.49 2) Installation $180.00 3) Four wheel laser alignment $110.00. All prices already include tax. I have opted to wait for some members to put up the springs and just got a set for $160.00 on their way to my house via FedEx ($100.00 (springs) + $60.00 (shipping)).
