Turbo/Supra Swap
New to the Lexus scene, but I am a huge fan of modified cars. Ive searched and have not come across anyone who has done a supra transplant in their 3GS.. Is there anyone out there? Or even a turbo? I know these cars are more luxurious than sporty, but i feel like a nice turbo could turn this car into a true beast! Input?

2jz's are overplayed, over and over and over. It's gotten boring, 3UZ is where it's at. You have to remember our cars are heavy, and to balance out that weight, a nicely built UZ-series engine would give it a lot more pep.

Of course, I hope you have some deep pockets too, building these suckers isn't cheap, neither is the transmission to withold its power.

You might be able to get away with a supercharger kit from TRD, don't expect more than ~30HP though. (5k+ for ~30HP is just not worth it if you ask me). Before you jump on that wagon though, you might want to do a little bit more reading into the build of the engine and see what critical engine components you'll need to make stronger hehehe.

Lol mannn I hope you're a baller because everything is gonna be custom and I'm almost positive that no one has ever mated a 2J to the 6 speed auto in the 3GS so you'll probably have to custom fit a V160 6 speed stick or A340 4 speed auto. Sooooo, yeah good luck buddy.

lol.... if anyone mated the 6-speed of the 3GS onto a modified 2jz, it would blow into pieces within the first few WOT runs.

I completely agree. The reason why so many people use the JZ's are because they can make stupid power and they aren't that expensive. The money it'll cost a 3UZ to get it to 600hp will probably be the same to get a 2J to 1000hp so they are certainly not overplayed they just have the most potential out of all the other Toyota motors.
