Since I see you only have 55,000 miles, I would actually call the lexus customer helpline and see if they can offer any assistance in repair since youre only out of warranty by 5000 miles
its an 07, hes been out of warranty since last year.

Notchy Steering Feel at Highway Speeds (4WD)

Introduction

Some Lexus vehicles may exhibit an intermittent non-binding notchy steering feeling and/or the steering wheel does not smoothly self-center when driving at highway speeds. This condition may occur when changing lanes or when coming out of long sweeping turns at highway speeds. Please use the following repair procedure to address this condition.

I look at the TSB. The repair is the replacement of the Power Steering Gear assembly.
The TSB applies to all 2006 GS300 AWD, 2007-2011 GS350 AWD with last 5 ditigts VIN# below 28532.
I have the same steering feel on my '08 450h. I will bring it up with the dealer but they probably won't help out since this TSB does not include my car year.

Same on my 2WD 2007 350,,, which was never part of the TSB. I plan to go the remanufactured route for $750ish and install myself...

Anyone has updates on their fixes? I plan on purchasing the remanufactured one due to costs. I can replace it myself. It is almost exactly what others have described. Notchy steering when driving through long sweeping curves. My car also does not like bumps too much. Any road imperfection makes steering unstable. It is tiring driving it from the constant corrections. I have a stock gs460.

I will probably save my old one for a rebuild if it does it again.

I bought (paid) a unit from them, but they cancelled my order because they could not locate it. Apparently they don't actually repair these themselves, but they buy them from somewhere else.
