I may give this a shot but I will put it somewhere tucked away and out of sight. the last thing I want is a USB drive sticking out of the middle of the dash.

Major props for the install, but I'm with them on location and look. ugh... Hurts me to look at it. I would have replaced the useless coin holder (rattle machine) with this.

As long as you like it, who cares though.

Mines inside the center console, i dont want to see a usb stick being kept cooled by the a/c vent. But good work though.

Most of you guys suck. Hell of a way to treat a new user in his first thread!

I chose that location because I LIKE IT. I can change thumb drives while driving, safely and easily. I can see the disk access indicator at night (if I look for it). Everyone who's seen it in person thinks it's very cool.

After this experience at Club Lexus, I think I'll just use the site to obtain information, rather than share mine.

Screw you!

Dude no hard feelings, everyone is entitled to they're opinion. What looks good to you might look ugly to me,don't take it to the hearth.

You're right, I can call your car ugly when, to someone else it looks baller as heck

To each his own like you said. I would put it somewhere near the cigarette lighter location underneath you will still be able to see, and now they've got 16GB super thin flash drives, so you can close the enclosure to the ash tray and hide it

Just kidding man... don't let this sour you on Club Lexus. People will be brutally honest, but I think it ends up helping people once they get over the perceived insults. Most people on here are helpful.

What has being a newly signed up member got to do with anything?
You registered so you could post your modification.
If you were seeking approval, then you've a lot to learn about life in general, never mind internet forums!
By showing the forum what you'd done, you were soliciting responses - favourable and negative alike.
If you thought you were going to get extra brownie points just because you're newly registered, you grossly underestimated how things work in reality.

I guess most of the negativity is down to the fact you've devalued a relatively expensive car by doing a mod that looks too out of place/kilter with the car's interior.
Done in a more subtle way/somewhere less in-your-face, may've been greeted with thumbs up rather than thumbs down.

Bottom line, it doesn't matter one iota what ANYONE ELSE thinks of YOUR decision to place the modification where YOU LIKED, so grow a thicker skin, and join in instead of stamping your feet because EVERYONE didn't agree that it's the best modification since sliced bread was created.

For real... If comments on your MOD bother you this much, growing up and becoming an adult isn't going to be easy for you. Bottom line, who cares what people think?

I wasn't going to post on this, since I was taught that if you have nothing nice to say... Its best to keep those comments to ones self. But since you seem surprised/shocked by the response, let me offer you some help,

First, don't ask a question if you aren't able to handle the answer. Even the best mod ever is only going to get you about 70% support. That is just the nature of the world.

Next, you have hacked up and destroyed a part that's worth roughly $125. If I were you I would call up Sewell and order a replacement right now. At least that way you can restore the car if you ever sell it. Trim bits are some of the first ones to be discontinued by the OEM, and after a few years can be notoriously difficult to get. In the future I would price out the piece of trim you plan to mangle before you begin. For example, I'm considering adding rear seat heaters to my car. BEFORE I start I will buy a second trim panel that will be drilled to take the two extra switches. That way, if I hate it, or if it bothers me that everyone tells me that it sucks.. I'm only out $25 to put it back.

Lastly, you can add me to the list of people who thinks this does not add to the car, it doesn't even look centered in the left vent. Depending on where the chrome slider is, it will always look "off". But you can also add me to the list of people who think that its your car, and if you think that looks cool and that is a good spot for it, that's all that really matters.

I just don't understand how someone could have something sticking out of the dash and think it looks good, especially on a luxury car.
