Occasionally when driving I hit the power button on the rdaio and it will not turn on. A short time later it does after a few pushes of the buttons. Screen has power.

Have you tried turning it on by using the "mode" button on the steering wheel or by using the voice command?

This happens to me as well. When i got my GS it already had an I-simple cable for my iPod installed. I always assumed that it was the culprit. It doesn't happen often. I drive the car daily and have owned it for 3 months now and it has only happened about 4-6 times.

 

I do not have nav,so no voice command?
I will work on the mode button and try that way.
Is it possible to upgrade to a nav system reasonably?

Do you or did it have an after market amp/sub? My car did and I found that the remote wire was touching metal and causing the sound to not play. Everything was on just no sound. That wire is no more and had zero problems for months of everyday use.

 

All stock.

 

I have the ML w NAV. When the system decides not to play, nothing gives off sound and I cant switch modes on the unit, wheel. If i power down then back on everything works fine.
