Default Gs...mechanical nightmare??

Hello,

I have a 1999 GS300 that I have owened for the past 5 months. I put 16k miles on it and it has given me no problems. Well Im lying I had to get the brakes + Starter changed, along with regular oil changes. To me this is absolutely amazing I have owned a cl500, s500, 645ci, and Range Rover, and with each and every single one of them I have had problems. They have all been mechanical nightmares. So I am tempted to upgrade to an 06/07 GS300/350. But before I do I just want to know if this car troublesome?? Because I cannot believe this car has giving me no problems @ all. With the other cars I had air suspension problems, oil leaks, computer meltdowns and spent thousands. So i dont want to get the 3rd generation GS and be in for a mechnical nightmare....Please let me know

thanks in advance

No mechanical issue's it is a worry free car. The only thing to look at is the dash rattles, but they can be fixed.

My GS350 has had several recalls/TSIB issues taken care of by the dealer. None of the problems manifested themselves before I had them addressed. I've rarely purchased an extended warranty on any car I've owned (since 1966) before this one, however, I did the deed on the GS - not because I'm expecting problems, but because I'm so impressed with the car I don't plan on giving it up for a long time.
BTW, I went to see the 4GS last week, and came away reinforced in my decision to keep my 3GS.

If you look at other forums for those other cars you had, you will see numerous posts about numerous mechanical issues. On this Club Lexus forum the mist common post is how to mod or upgrade our cars. Very few mechanical issue posts except maybe on the much older cars. I think that says it all. I made a six year loan on mine (something I never do, usually up to 3-4 years or else I just lease) because I plan to keep my GS for a long time ... especially since they totally messed up (in my opinion) the looks with the 2013...!

Any Lexus is 10000 times better than MB or BMW product when it comes to long run.
Unless your employer is paying for your lease......BMW and MB are great disposable products...
