isimple installed this weekend
Hey guys, I have a few questions. I have a 2007 Lexus RX 350 and I'd like to add XM radio and the ability to play my iPhone through my car. I was about to pull the trigger on the isimple set up but after reading this it looks like I should get the VS brand. My question is does it matter if you don't have the nav unit? I won't really loose anything on the display right? Just curious which route to go since I don't really know.
I can get the isimple gateway (isty571) online for 98 bucks, the issr11 cable for 39 bucks, and the scc1 tuner for 339. Than about 80 bucks to get installed.
If I do the VS route I have to buy the sl3x kit for 320 (xm radio) and the sl3ix kit (so I can play my ipoad) for another 199. Than add install on top of that. It seems like the isimple is a much better deal. Not sure what the VS does different that would make it worth so much more.
Thanks.

I'm not sure what the VS brand is. Are you speaking of Vaistech? I have the iSimple with the scc1 tuner. ISimple was $99 and tuner with antenna was $70 used. I installed myself. Pretty simple. Not having a nav shouldn't be an issue. I like my isimple. I've heard the Vaistech was better though.
