Default GS350 Navigation Update

Can a 2007 GS350 upgrade to generation 6 navigation and if so, will that allow the welcome screen to bypass straight to the map (without driver input)? Saw this on a new Lexus LS460 and was surprised at how simpler using the nav was.

Upgrading to the latest map allows bypassing directly to the map.

yes the newer maps will allow you to bypass that. you could update to the gen 6 system but it would cost a lot as it requires all new navi equipment

you dont' need gen6 system to get rid of the i agree screen, just update your map dvd from 6.1 to 7.1 or later (iirc). updating to gen6 system won't be pretty, it's quite a big difference, nav is hdd instead of dvd, so all harnesses changed. and radio unit is also different so i don't know if that affects anything

So ya'll are saying that it CAN'T be done unless I want to invest in new hardware (i.e. nav equipment)?

The simplicity of exchanging one DVD for another doesn't apply for a 2007 GS350???

like i said if you want to just get rid of the i agree button (which means you still have the original 6.1 dvd), just purchase a dvd upgrade (i think latest is 10.1 or 11.1), swap it out, and you are done.

the gen6 system you referred to, that's a complete system change including hardware.
