I second that, Check your oil, it's probably low and swishing around in the oil pan when ur accelerating, causing the light to come on

Default Oil light

I have exactly the same problem. Have you found the cause of it? My oil level is fine.

Default Oil Light coming on when accelerating

Sounds like a weak oil pump. May need to have it checked out.

Sometimes at the same time as the light comes on, I can hear some kind of noise through the vents for a few seconds. Sounds almost like a squeaky belt. Can the oil pump make a noise like that?

When you say your oil level is fine, is it on the high or low end of the "safe zone." And are you checking when the engine is hot or cold?

check oil pressure using a pressure gauge...

connect it to the pressure switch near the filter and u should read 11.6 psi at idle and 55.5 psi at 6000 rpm
