Default Annual Maintenance Cost?

I've been trying to looking at used Lexuses for awhile, trying to educate myself on different models and their pros and cons. One thing I have yet to really find it how much the maintenance costs are.

I'm mostly looking at a 2007 GS RWD and I was wondering if anyone could give their input on the upkeep of the car.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Just like a normal car, just have the oil changed regularly and you should be good to go. Synthetic every 5k miles should cost your around $75 or so. Aside from that your 60k service runs about $400-$500.

I do my oil changed myself and full synthetic oil change is 40 bucks. And do that every 3k miles as per recommended from a mechanic buddy of mine. Changed out break fluid at toyota for 120 bucks, Changed brake rotors once ($180), pads twice (oem for $120)myself and that's about it. Car has been great. 80k miles. Big timing belt and water pump change out coming up real soon... Gonna cost me a little over a grand. Not bad at all. 80k miles on the GS430 and have owned the car 3 years and running strong.

Engine maintenance is pretty easy and typical. I do my own oil changes at 5k or so. I let it go over since I use synthetic...

Tires are a problem. Those 18" low profile tires are not cheap and they do not last long especially with my preference for high performance summer tires! I've gotten about 20k-25k miles a set and replacement is $1000-$2000 depending on the tires you want.

I've also replaced the brake pads myself. Pretty easy. They lasted a while though.. .about 25k miles for the front... rear are still going with 40k miles on them!!!

Sewellparts.com also sells Lexus parts such as incabin and air filters at a fraction of most lexus dealerships. They also sell the parts for 30k 60k etc, service intervals. My local dealership wanted to charge over $600 for the 30k service which includes the brake flush and replacing all the filters. I was able to get everything done for about $200 (paid Lexus $50 for the oil change and Toyota $100 for the brake flush)
