Default Massive charges with new installs

I am trying to get a TTE exaust put on the car along with the TTE rear skirt. All you do is take off the old one put the new one on, paint the small skirt and stick it on. I went to the crystler dealership and they quoted me $1500 with 10 hours of paint time. Then I went to SI motor sports and they quoted me $900-$1000 and called someone up to see what they would charge them to paint something and then he got off the phone and told me $350 to paint the skirt. i went to another place they say like $100-$150 for the exaust and then he can put the skirt on when he does that but can't paint. took it to another paint place and he said around $80-$90 to paint the skirt and the other place wants to rip me off (the $350 place). But he is so busy that he doesn't want to do it bascially. Anyone else encountered high rates when trying to get something simple installed? Hell I can't take it to lexus I just paid $308 for a new HD low light bulb installed. I guess I am glad I curb checked one of their wheels on their new car for doing that to me. Toyota said they won't touch cutting part of a bumper off.

krava, i would go with a shop that is reputable and known for their good work (ie paint match, good customer service, etc, etc). reputable shops maybe more expensive to go with, but you will have less of a headache IF something goes wrong when you go cheap. remember the axiom, you get what you pay for. sure, some bodyshop can or may do the job for way less, but in the end are you going to be happy about it if things don't come out the way you want it?

I would say DIY everything, just find the shop to paint the skirt.
