GS 350 DRL BULB? 9005 or 9006?
I'd like to change the yellow LED bulb that's runs as the DRL on my '07 GS 350. Is that bulb the 9005 High Beam or the 9006 Fog? I know there's a lot of posts on here about this but I've seen it answered both ways.

Your DRL and High beams are the same bulb 9005. The DRL is just the high beam running at a low power. If you are trying to change it due to the color then you're going to need to get a DRL LED kit but you will lose your high beams.
There is also a 194 bulb in the high beam housing that turns on when you use your low beams. That can be changed out to another halogen or LED if you want.

That's what I thought, but couldn't I just swap the OE 9005 for a Philips 5000k bulb and get a whiter output without using a kit or module? Thanks for your help HamBurglar but has anyone successfully tried this without a kit (i.e. no error lights or bulb flicker)?

Good question haven't seen anyone try that but thinking about it I figure it will probably be the same since it's still running the same output.
Since you are swapping the OE Halogen for another Halogen bulb then you wouldn't need a kit or module.
Another thought, you could have the dealership turn off your DRL and you would still have your High beams.

I'm not sure there's any halogen bulb you can buy that will be more white. the problem is, it's the high beam running at half the power. I've tried 7500K Nokya bulbs before, but they still look yellow...not as bad, but they're not HID quality by any means.

Just FYI I tried this already. Swapped it out with both Phillips Crystal Vision and Sylvania SilverStar Ultra (OEM is Sylvania ECO), with crappy results. The difference is not even noticeable. The bulbs looks so much nicer and cleaner with bluish housing, but it's just as yellow as stock once they light up.
This is the only damn light in the entire car I haven't been able to change and it's killing me! Guess I'll just have to keep the lights on in the daytime too!
