Default Help with vais sl2ic

Help.
So I tried to install the vais sl2ic this morning I disconnected the cables and plugged all the cables from the factory radio to the vais unit. When it came time to plug in the ac control. Dark blue plug. It seems it just vanished. Now my ac and heat are not working. I really don't understand what happened to it. Shouldn't all the wires be bundled up together. Now I'm lost and confused. Any one have any idea what could have happened.

i think you lost me there. why did you have to disconnect the ac control? which plug are you exactly talking about? does your car have mark levinson?

there is a blue 6-pin plug from the sl2ic unit, it goes the back of the navigation screen, that's the video input

Hmm there are 2 blue plugs one on top of the other. Top one is dark blue. Bottom one is light blue.

ok, if you don't have ML, then from factory when you take out the nav / radio unit and look at back (top part), you should see one plug location where there is NO plug in it, and it's blue. that's where you plug the male blue plug from the sl2ic. the female blue plug on the sl2ic, leave it alone, don't plug anything to it

other than that, you shouldn't have to unplug ANY blue plugs from the back of the radio unit at all.

I put everything back to stock. Gonna take it to the dealership. When I hit the climate button. Climate screen comes up but everything is grey. Nothing works. None of the buttons on the unit work either. Everything else seems to be working fine. Wierd. It's not like I crammed a plug where it didn't fit. Just noticed airbag light come up on the dash. Guess I gotta see what the dealer says. Thanks for the help rom

my guess is something probably fried... a few plugs on the units are quite similar to each other and one easy mixed up between them. god knows what would happen after that

Ouch I hope the best for you bro, this sounds like it could become pricy. Hey Rom I have a NAV tool for a video input is ther a way i can also install an Ipod adapter also or should I just run a whole new module that allows video, and Ipod. Also what would you recommend, I don t have NAV or ML

umm, tough call. you can add ipod unit (only audio though), i suppose you just daisy chain them. if you get the ml+, it will have both the ipod and also video input already. so you can play songs from ipod, video from ipod, and also external video rca video input. that seems to be cleaner route, but i don't know what your budget is
