noooooooo!

Checked my 08 gs460 and its peeling away above the rear passenger door.

No warranty here...I might try the superglue fix before taking it anywhere.

Thumbs down GS300 drip mold peeling

I reported it several mothers ago & have given up to get repaired but I am looking into purchasing 2014 GS350 but if this molding is installed the same way in 2014 GS350 I will consider getting other luxury none Lexus car. I am waiting to make decision till the 2014 GS350 comes out.

I just found this thread. I have the same problem and while my car was in having the recall work done I asked them about this issue. They told me they had not seen another car do this and mine must be a rare case. Guess they were wrong. I am going to try the good faith route but they already refused to fix it once.

I contacted Lexus and showed them this thread. The lady told me that they denied me assistance once before and were denying me again. She told me they had to stand behind there district person and said I did not service my car enough with Lexus to qualify for assistance. What does servicing have to do with a trim molding? Anyways I have no respect left for the company after making me feel like I meant nothing to them as a customer.

It is an 07. Garage kept so weather is not an issue. Doesn't matter the age. They did something cheap and it looks like ****. They will fix one persons car but not another. Just shady business practices. I work with customer service and it is crap the reasons they are giving me. They just don't want to stand behind the product and won't replace it because its not a safety issue. But when you try to resell a luxury item it has to look like one not like a POS. I take good care of my cars and now I am gonna have to fix this on my own dime because of faulty manufacturing practices. I will not buy another Lexus or Toyota.

Someone said it's chrome underneath, so why not just peel it off? For all the extra chrome people add to their cars, here's some "free" factory chrome.

Default 07IS350 drip molding blew off!

My drip molding strip blew off while driving. I have a 07 IS350, is there anyone who has this similar issue with this model? BTW this car has not been in an accident.
The Lexus SS quoted me over $250 to replace and install. This is outrageous price for one plastic strip that should NEVER come off and should NEVER blow off!!! The manufacturer should look into this matter and replace it as a defective piece.

Mine blew off while driving as well. Started making this flapping noise on the highway and then it started peeling. I have a gs350 though. For the price of the part I think that I'm just going to peel off the rest of the tape.

the one piece replacement part is inexpensive. it's just a plastic strip. I agree the strip molding is not tightly secured with the two snap clips at both ends.
don't think it was designed well!!

^ Same. I had both of mine replaced a few days ago and Lexus good-willed the parts. Only paid for labor.
